Xavier Visage is an author, educator, entrepreneur, performing artist, and organizational leader whose career spans education, cosmetology, and the performing arts.

 

A native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, he graduated from St. Michael's High School in 2009 before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of New Mexico. He also holds professional licensure in cosmetology, instruction and education, bringing together technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for developing people.

Throughout his career, Xavier has remained committed to one central mission: helping others discover their potential and equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and discipline to achieve meaningful success.

​

In education, Xavier has taught across primary, secondary, and post-secondary (adult learning) environments. His classroom experience includes 1st grade general education, 2nd grade writing, 3rd grade science, 6th grade reading interventions, Kindergarten through 3rd grade music, 7th grade New Mexico History and 8th grade Spanish. Beyond the classroom, he has served in operational leadership roles, including Purchasing Specialist at Mission Achievement and Success (MAS) Charter School, where he supported campus operations and organizational efficiency. He has also instructed future Esthiology professionals at TONI&GUY and Paul Mitchell The School, preparing students for state licensure while mentoring them in professionalism and career readiness.

Before transitioning into education, Xavier built a diverse career in the beauty industry, working as a stylist, retail consultant, educator, and beauty ambassador for nationally recognized brands including SEPHORA, TONI&GUY, Great Clips, WELL PEOPLE, STILA Cosmetics, and DIOR. His experience spans admissions, marketing, operations, retail management, customer experience, and beauty education, providing him with a unique understanding of both the creative and business sides of the industry.

Today, Xavier is the Founder and Executive Director of The Visage Institute, where he is leading the development of a new model for beauty education centered on professionalism, character development, technical excellence, entrepreneurship, and long-term career success. His vision challenges traditional assumptions about beauty school by cultivating graduates who are distinguished not only by technical mastery, but by integrity, leadership, and business acumen.

Outside of education and business, Xavier is an accomplished performer, music director, and vocal coach with extensive experience in Albuquerque's performing arts community. His performance credits include Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Rocky Horror Show, Rock of Ages, Sister Act, Xanadu, and numerous other productions. As a music director, he has led productions including Chicago, Nunsense, Matilda, and How to Train Your Dragon Jr. In 2020, he music directed The Green, an original musical by Joriah Kwamé featured on the nationally televised competition Broadway Bound LIVE, returning in Season 2 as both a vocal coach and adjudicator.

Xavier is also the author of Mindset Makes the Difference: How Better Thinking Creates Better Results, a book exploring how repeated patterns of thought become habits that ultimately determine the trajectory of one's life. His work reflects his belief that lasting success begins with intentional thinking and personal responsibility.
